Default Ecto Scammers

There seems to be a great number of people trying to scam for ecto in the Temple of Ages at moment. Not sure if they are bots, but one quickly offered me 56 gold instead of 56k for 8 ectos and others players seem to be complaining right now too.

Also Im noticing people spamming for trades such as "wtb ecto 7k" as fast as they can, they minutes later you'll see the exact same deal except "wts ecto 7k"

Not sure if this is the most appropiate section to post this in, but just a heads up.

I'm sure Anet could issue a few thousand temp bans just by watching ToA for 5 minutes. Its all either spammers, scammers or pricks.

Yeah thats increasingly common in Temple of the Ages (where I'm known to loiter)

I find that the scammers are easy to spot by their unusual names and tendancy to spam. E.g.

wtb ecto 7k ~1
wtb ecto 7k ~2
wtb ecto 7k ~3

People are generally quick to declare "SCAMMER" in local chat upon being scammed or nearly scammed.

I actually admire these so called "scammers." It takes skill and timing to get it just right so that the people on the other end don't figure you out. After all, just because you're ignorant with your money and possessions doesn't mean someone else should be banned because they saw a good opportunity because they made a small mistake in where they typed in how much money to offer.

Unfortunately, this is one of the oldest bait-and-switch scams around, and has already been discussed many times on these boards.

The moral of the story is to never rush through a trade and always ensure you know what you're buying or selling before hitting accept.
